My health journey started in 2010 when I was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis at only 29. At this time I was not supporting my health in a nourishing way. My path in life was not always as healthy as I live today and my body paid the price. It is important for me to share my personal journey with all of you, see below. I am living proof that taking your health into your own hands is powerful and highly rewarding, I wish the same for you. I feel better now in my 40s than I felt in most of my 20s & 30s! I have my lifestyle choices to thank for this incredible improvement!
Pursuing an education in wellness and using many different modalities along the way to battle this disease, I have discovered many that support great health! I have found that a holistic health approach has supported my body and I hope the same for all of you. A holistic health approach encourages individuals to recognize the whole person when speaking of wellness. I give credit to my daily nutrition choices, balanced stress responses, the support from my husband & our community of family and friends and health experts, exercise routines including both resistance training and cardio, mindfulness through yoga & meditation and a positive outlook on life. If you are interested in exploring your health journey further with me, please contact me for a complimentary consultation! I look forward to helping YOU and empowering YOU to overcome your health obstacles.
My health journey with my MS diagnosis from 2010 to current:
2010 – diagnosed with MS in April – partially tore left ACL in May – went to physical therapy
2013 – completely torn right ACL followed with 2 surgeries in 2013 – attempted gluten free, i found little benefit doing only that. I also went to pt, monthly massages, acupuncture
2015 – quit cigarettes
2017 – right ankle issues, dr says tendonosis, a chronic state of tendonitis (inflammation) and now i started to have trouble with physical activity. We treated my ankle with PRP platelet rich plasma injections, it only worked temporarily for about a year. I continued with pt and fascia release work
2018 – GI issues began, possible endometriosis
2019 – quit alcohol
2020 January – took control of my health with nutrition and a holistic approach
2020 March – no longer taping my ankle or wearing knee braces while skiing
2020 March/April – cognition has improved, energy levels have improved
2020 April – GI issues stop, was never diagnosed with endometriosis
2020 May – chronic knee and ankle pain continue to no longer hurt
Currently – I have no chronic pain and live a paleo lifestyle, practice yoga and/or meditation daily, exercise most days and manage stress. I do receive monthly massages and enjoy regular epsom salt baths. I drink plenty of water and spend a lot of time outside. Self care is very important, the better care you take of yourself, the better care you can take of those around you. My husband Dave and I live on a farm in Lyons, Colorado. We have 3 dogs, 1 cat, 2 mules, and many chickens and looking to add more animals to our land in the future!
